Royal Antwerp
Royal Antwerp is home to Belgium’s oldest golf club, dating back to 1888. Its current location in the Kapellenbos north of Antwerp, was established in 1912, and has since developed into one of the finest wooded heathland courses in north west Europe.
Durabunker Ltd were commissioned to renovate numerous key strategic bunkers and build 2 new bunkers in collaboration with architect Dimitri Van Hauwaert. Durabunker staff completed the first phase of the bunker renovation project in Autumn 2016, building a combination of strategic revetted bunkers to replace sand splash faces within existing bunker templates, and creating several new bunkers with shallow rolling edges.

The bunkers built by the Durabunker staff look great. Very natural and highly sustainable. The combination of traditional revetted bunkers and rolling edges works very well and from an architects point of view it offers a method of bunker construction that allows complex edging without the need for hours of maintenance from the greenstaff. I’ve been highly impressed by the product and the company and would not hesitate to recommend both to other clients.
