Rhydian co-developed the construction method we have now branded DURAbunker (formerly known as Envirobunker) and is also co-inventor of the only granted Design Patent and Registered Designs associated with the Durabunker construction method. Now a full time Managing Director at Durabunker Ltd, Rhydian is a graduate of the University of Wales he holds an Msc in Communications Systems Engineering and Management and a Beng in Computer Systems Engineering. Rhydian forged a succesful career in Computer Network & Systems Engineering, where he consulted with Welsh Government and world leading tech companies such as Sony UK, re-designing entire communication infrastructures and new co-orporate wide systems. He also was solely responsible for setting up the first CISCO Certified Network Engineering Training Academy in Wales, delivering innovative and cutting edge technology training. It was after this that Rhydian turned his attention to working in the golf industry and the development of the patented bunker construction methodology we have now branded Durabunker.

A lifelong golfer, Rhydian is a multiple club champion and represented Glamorgan County and South Wales at junior level. Rhydian also sat as Chairman of Greens at his local club for more than 5 years, managing and implementing many development and remodelling projects. He has an acute awareness of the challenges faced by golf clubs wishing to improve their golf courses within a prescribed financial framework.
Rhydian has been building synthetic bunkers since the very first prototype was completed in 2009 and has built at venues such as St Andrews Links, Berwick on Tweed GC, Tiburon GC (PGA and LPGA Tour Venue) Tennessee National GC, Golf Club Budersand, Royal North Devon GC and St Enodoc GC. Rhydian remains actively involved in the construction process on site with Durabunker Ltd and has worked in partnership with leading golf course architects such as Nicklaus Design, Dye Design and Pierre Fulke Design, as well as specialist contractors on a number of international projects. He possesses valuable experience in all aspects of project implementation. Together with the Durabunker team, Rhydian is well positioned to support clients at every stage of a construction project, from concept to completion, ensuring delivery of first class outcomes at all times.
